About Us

We are a small dog rescue charity with a passion for helping dogs of all shapes and sizes get the help they need to find forever homes.

Our Story

Founder Charlotte has always has a heart for working with rescue dogs and with qualifications and experience as a professional dog trainer and behaviorist, she has worked with many dogs of all shapes and sizes over the years. Creating a rescue charity has always been a dream of hers and she was particularly keen to use her qualifications to help dogs who need behavioral rehabilitation prior to being safely rehomed. So she created a rehoming charity equipped for dogs who needed further one to one support and professional training prior to being rehomed and a rehoming system to best help them and potential owners have a successful and minimally stressful rehoming process.

So Hopeful Hounds was launched at the beginning of 2024 to begin the journey of growing a rescue charity and helping dogs in need of forever homes!

Charlotte Ledbrook

Founder

Charlotte has been a professional dog trainer for over 5 years now but has always had a keen interest in working with rescue dogs. Having worked with many dogs with behavioral issues, she wanted dogs like those to get the professional help they needed to be ready to go She is passionate about helping rehabilitate dogs with behavioral problems who may struggle in a traditional rescue setting and finding them forever homes where they can be stress free and loved like they deserve!

Janette Ledbrook

Treasurer

Jan is the charities treasurer and helps out with the behind the scenes running of the charity and financial decision making. She has a rescue dog of her own from Romania and is always willing to help out those dogs in need whether that is physically or by helping keep the charity running smoothly. She has been supporting Charlotte with the dogs she has worked with for many years now and has experience as a treasurer at a previous charity so was very willing to help the Hopeful Hounds team!

Clare Groom

Secretary

Clare has been a big supporter of Hopeful Hounds for longer thank you think having supported Charlotte behind the scenes with getting the charity initially set up! She has a rescue Staffie cross that Charlotte helped rehab and rehomed to her many years ago and has supported with more recent rescue cases as well. She will be helping out behind the scenes with the admin and general care of the dogs as well as helping to grow Hopeful Hounds as a whole!

Can you help?

Although we currently don't have a base to welcome volunteers, we do often need help on fundraising events or with the occasional dog walking. If you'd like to help, please get in touch with our team and we'll be happy to advise what we have available.
